Recurring Winter Events/Activities
- Visit the Lake Lodge Recreation Center for some ice-skating or snowshoeing on Lake Winona. They’re open Monday-Friday from 4:00-7:00pm and on Saturday/Sunday from 1:00-7:00pm. A winter seasonal pass is just $15. Snowshoes, ice skates, broomball sticks, and hockey sticks can be rented on a daily rate from the Lodge.
- Strap on your snowshoes & explore Winona’s enchanting trails. Winona features a number of in-town parks and trails as well as nearby State Parks that offer both cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Check out more information from Visit Winona and plan your next great excursion!
- Ice Skate at the Bud King Ice Arena (670 E Front St) in Winona. The Bud King Ice Arena features a new indoor ice refrigeration system and outdoor ice rink that overlook the beautiful Mississippi River. The arena is managed by the Winona Area Youth Hockey Association (WAYHA). For more information on open skate times, skating lessons, and hockey programs, visit the WAYHA website.

March 3: 6:00-9:00pm: Campfire Concert Series present Ryan Acker at Blue Heron Coffee House: Join us at the Blue Heron Coffee House for an evening of great music, hot pizzas, delicious beverages, and smiling faces. Order some food and you get the music for free. As songwriter and multi-instrumentalist for The Last Revel, Ryan Acker has made a lasting impression on the contemporary folk and bluegrass community with 4 studio albums and national tours with bands such as Trampled by Turtles, the Infamous Stringdusters, and Yonder Mountain String Band.
March 5th: 7:00-10:00am: Winona Farmer’s Market at East Recreational Center (210 Zumbro St): Get your fresh food fix, sip some coffee, interact with friends, and enjoy a leisurely morning.
March 5th: 10:00-12:00am: The Art of Living/Riding the Wave with Sarah Johnson at Minnesota Marine Art Museum (800 Riverview Dr): Join us for an interactive program with Sarah in which we will play with art materials, explore the connections between creativity and health, and what it means to “ride the wave.” The thought-provoking experiential activities are designed to encourage connections with ourselves and other humans. Each workshop is unique; past themes have focused on acceptance, self-compassion, and willingness, among others.
